Hello! My name is Teacher Emilia. I am an English as Second Language instructor who believes in fostering an emotional connection to language learning. I have been working in this field since 2017, and I have had the opportunity to teach students from Europe, Latin America, and Asia. I mindfully create an environment where students can feel safe when exploring English.
I use a curriculum called ‘Teachers Together English’ that was designed by a partnership of teachers with extensive experience in online teaching. I believe it is necessary that students have the opportunity to practice reading, listening, and speaking. I also make sure students take the time to share their personal interests.
I received a B. A. in Social Thought in Political Economy from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and I am currently studying Psychology at the University of Buenos Aires, in which all my coursework is in Spanish, a language I now speak fluently. I have also taken several courses at Harvard School of Extension.
The journey of learning a language is one that I have traveled. It is my responsibility and joy to accompany my students on this adventure!
